These personalized to-go coffee mugs make a great gift. I made these for some of my family last Christmas. "Coffee Business" is kind of an inside joke with my family. My late grandfather lovingly coined the phrase several years ago, and we have since been using it after dinner at family gatherings. So what a fun and perfect phrase to paint on these cups. I bought the cups at Jo Ann fabrics, and I've seen them at all major retailers. These are plastic and dishwasher safe.
I have a cricut machine which I use to cut out my own vinyl lettering. However if you don't have one, you can buy letter stickers at your local craft store and just remove the sticker inside, or you can buy sticker stencils as well. Attach those to your mug and get ready to paint.
I used Martha Stewarts multi-surface paint which is safe for plastic and is pretty heavy duty. Just be sure to read the back of the label on your paint to be sure it will stick to your surface.
I ended up using only the black because I liked the contrast. Just use a brush to apply a thin layer of paint over your stencil. I peeled it up right away in case I needed to fix any paint before it dried.
Let dry according to directions and you have an awesome gift with a personal touch that someone couldn't just go to a store and buy! Now let's get on with that coffee business!!
